Here is my Wikipedia article on the Six degrees of Richard Herring as deleted by Wikipedia three times before they sent me a message saying I'd be deleted if I posted it again:

Six Degrees of Richard Herring is a variant on The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game (whereby players have to link any person to Kevin Bacon in six moves).

== The Rules ==

The aim of the game is to get between two specific Wikipedia entries using only the highlighted blue links. The player who navigates between the two pages within the fewest clicks, or uses the cleverest path is the winner. For example, to get from the Wikipedia page for American actress [[Argentina Brunetti]] to French anti-communist party [[La Cagoule]], one could go via the following clicks:

1. [[The Lone Ranger]]
2. [[Chocolate]]
3. [[Nestle]]
4. [[L'Oreal]]
5. [[Eugene Schueller]]
6. [[La Cagoule]]

Argentina played a supporting role in the Lone Ranger in 1955, The Lone Ranger starred in a chocolate advertisment in the mid ninties advertising rolos, Nestlé are a chocolate manufacturer, Nestlé are shareholders in L'Oréal, L'Oréal was founded by Eugène Schueller and Eugène Schueller provided financial support and held meetings for La Cagoule.

== Origins ==

The game was invented by [[Richard Herring]] in Edinburgh 2008 on the 26th episode of The Collings and Herrin podcast.

I managed to get it in 4 moves

La Cagoule - Spain - Argentine - Argentina (disambiguation) - Argentina Brunetti

More impressively, Richard Herring can be linked to Kevin Bacon in 4 as well

Kevin Bacon worked with Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men, Tom Cruise worked with Simon Pegg in Mission Impossible 3, Simon Pegg worked with Kevin Eldon in Hot Fuzz, and the Actor Kevin Eldon was in TMWJMJudy with Richard Herring

Perhaps we should turn it around and see if we can link Richard Herring with everyone in showbiz

that's fast for a deletion, i wonder why? have they got teams of Herring-thwarters since his shenanigans?

One thing I'm not clear on, does it have to be your first attempt or can you try different things to get a better result?

I think I remember that the most obvious way, getting it in two by updating the Collings and Herrin (podcast) entry to cover the Jon Gaunt running theme is not allowed.

ah:

Not notable. It's a game made up by some apparently "national known comedian" in a podcast. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 17:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
