I bought new socks today.
Yes they are. And they are like shoes, but they're not. They're socks. This is relavent in the way that now when I wake up, get out of bed, and put on my clothes, i will quickly put on these glorious socks as well. Oh, these aren't just any socks my friend. They are, my friends. And i'm glad. (And if Pliny The Younger is going to make some unecessary remark, he needn't bother because i know jealousy when i read it.)

Socks for friends? Why didn't I think of that. It solves all my problems... I could even get girl-freind-sock...

Rejection is a nasty thing you know :) :wink: Just thought an update on my socks is due; Well, i have them on now- all fluffy and purpley-silver with a wooden button on the strap. Wooden button? Strap? On a sock?..i hear you gasp. Yes, as I said before, these aren't just any socks. If you'll excuse me, I would just like a couple minutes to stare at them and stroke them. I'm sure I just saw them move all by themselves!! My socks are alive!! I have to name them soon though. I like to name everything of mine. Any suggestions are gratefully welcome. Except from you Pliny because people with pens that have Rich's fingerprints on them are not allowed. Either you ditch the pen or you can't name my socks. It's quite simple really.

Its no use trying to make me jealous of your socks, and your constant shunning of my pen is as ridiculous as Rod Hulls rubber arm... anyway I don't believe in your socks, I demand pictures!

Well actually he said to me whilst giving back the pen "thats a nice pen you have there" and as his word is law on this forum it has bound the pen to me, metaphysically obviously. I'm not into pen bondage.

I quite like pen bondage. Also, pencil bondage, biro bondage, Parker ball point bondage... all kinds of stationary bondage. Mind you, it's all stationary by the time i've finished with it! (stationary as in still, not the writing implements....oh God help me)

I've been thinking about taaking off the wooden buttons that are currently on my purple socks and replacing them with a pair of more stylized buttons to match my personality. What do you think to this?

I would only allow it if the buttons were or made from cress punnets! from only 29p a punnet they're the ideal button!

A Message for Keir: You are indeed right. I should love them for being a mixture of soft (purple wool) and hard (wooden buttons) textures and anything that i do to them would ruin the handicraft of a 4yr old orphan somewhere out there working for a pebble an hour. ....on the other hand, i did find 2 shiny red big buttons that would look just darling on them!! A Message for Pliny: If I was to walk around the house in Cress-punnet socks, my carpet would probably start to laugh at me. Not to mention the walls, furniture and the minute particles of bromine in the atmosphere. Also, i would not be able to put on my shoes to go to the shops to buy my weekly issue of PlayGirl....i mean Gardeners World.
