Big Brother 6 (oh dear God) I feel I should mention Big Brother, as it is destined to take up most of Channel four's programing for the next few months.
So far I have barely been able to watch five minutes of it without involutarily screaming in pain. One male (I really wouldn't like to call him a man) has the most irritating voice I have ever heard, I found myself pleading for him to shut the fuck up the second he opened his mouth.
The idea of Big Brother appealed to me greatly in the beginning. I thought it would be an interesting social experiment, how would 10 strangers react in a pressure cooker environment? And other such bullshit (obviously I like everybody else in fact wanted to see if anyone got it on).
Now it's become pretty clear that the purpose of the programme is to invite in the people who have been outcast from the outside world because of their inability to behave like rational human beings (or possibly because the rest of the world couldn't cope with them anymore) and foist them onto us 24 hours a day.

They've all clearly been selected because they're so 'outrageous' and will therefore be oh so entertaining. I couldn't relate to any of them though so there's no one to route for and therefore no point in watching.

Haven't watched it. I just refuse to. The world doesn't need Big Brother.
Comedy reference sidenote, I've just finished watching the Peep Show DVD that features a Big Brother application by Jeremy. Spot on. "I'm mad - blaaaa"

I like it; I think it's good. The people are dreadful, that's true, but they're there to dance for our amusement, not make us want to go for a pint with them. I have become rather tired of the constant arguing, but I suspect that will simmer down over the next couple of weeks.

I did watch some of it the other day and could feel myself being drawn in. Dagnammit.

...and channel 4 has just commissioned another two series of it!
I honestly thought this would be the last year of it but alas no, another two years of Britain's most vain, vacuous, vile, vulgar errrrr vermin on our screens. This is the first year i've not been (to my embarrassment)thoroughly engrossed by it, they're all just too annoying (I didn't think that was possible) and even the media seems less interested than normal.

I heard they had plans to make ten series' of it, so two more doesn't sound all that bad.
As I have spent the entire weekend on the internet I am still thoroughly unengrossed. However there is still time.

i never watched or read anything about last years and intend to do the same this year. i really adore it when people start talking about it and i say i haven't watched it and the shock on their faces is great. makes me feel all good inside :)

It's one of the finest feelings possible :D I started working in an office at the start of this year and it's opened up a whole new world of ways to feel superior and possibilities to be obnoxious to other people. I should probably feel bad about this but I don't
'no I did not watch Big Brother, Celebrity Love Island, Coronation Street, Eastenders, Trisha, (insert inane drivel here). I updated my wonderful blog instead :D'http://quietyou.blogspirit.com

It is rather a nice feeling I agree.
I do not watch any tv which is pointless, meaning I watch Back in the Day and the bloody poker (which is now really causing me sleep deprivation) and if anybody working in an office wants to discuss either of them I'd be very surprised. Of course I'd still force my opinions on them.

Mmmmmm... I like what they've done to the three new tenants of the house...

don't even know the names of the folk in it.. usually i'd flick through the mirror at home but being at uni i haven't read a paper in yonks! can't be arsed to actually pay for that crap that lasts no more than 5 minutes reading. it was all about the cartoons and 'problem' pages anyway
but now i've given in and looked at the site just to see what twats people are talking about lol.
and hi, i'm new.

HA! did anyone hear they asked Amando Ianucci to be in I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here?
haha
keir- 05-30-2006
cos he's a lovely scottish man
Pliny The Younger- 05-30-2006
Yes that is obviously why they asked him to be on it, thought he needed money for his heroin addicition that all scottish people are naturally born with, luckily he was civilised when he came to England.
